Once you have a better understanding of the previous six energy centers, you will begin to feel a greater sense of peace and start to notice the energy flowing through you. The crown chakra is the energy center of spirituality and enlightenment. Located at the top of the head and represented by a bright white or light violet colour, it is responsible for our spiritual connection to a higher power. In Sanskrit, Sahasrara means 'thousand-petalled lotus' and represents divinity and oneness with the universe. This energy center is connected to the element of the cosmos, and it governs our willingness to trust in a greater intelligence to guide us on our path. Having an openness towards spirituality increases our awareness of self, others and the universe.
Associated with the pineal gland and the central nervous system, the crown chakra is responsible for the outlook that we have in life. When this energy center is active, we feel connected to our spirituality and able to put our trust in the universe. In a society that conditions us to keep busy and on task, it can be difficult for some of us to slow down and reconnect to our higher selves. When we neglect our spiritual side, there is no room for reflection or self growth, which is important for the health of our seventh energy centre. The crown chakra teaches us patience and stillness, and to find beauty in simplicity. It is what gives us a sense of knowing; it provides the peace and fulfilment that create a profound appreciation for all life.
The seventh energy center enables us to connect to the realms of spirit and to trust in a higher guidance. Many of us have experienced meaningful events, synchronicities or unexplained circumstances that change our perception of life and encourage us to rethink our place in the cosmos. Connecting to the crown chakra, through signs and symbols, can help you find a way to communicate with angels or spirit guides. You may have noticed repeating numbers wherever you go, experienced profound realizations or found meaning in a particular animal encounter. Assigning significance to these unique signs is a powerful way to journey deeper and move into your spiritual power. Everything in your life is a reflection of your inner reality; staying open and receptive is the key to activating your crown chakra.
diagnosing the crown chakra chakra
When you have a balanced Crown Chakra, you’ll experience feeling connected to your higher self and God, you can recognize the divinity within yourself and your life and it will be easy to surrender to things that are out of your control. With an imbalanced Crown Chakra you have feelings of apathy, a lack of compassion towards self and others and excessive egotism. You might also experience insomnia and nightmares, a lack of purposeful direction, spiritual disconnection, greed and materialism.
The “way” of the crown chakra is going beyond the limits of our ego, and into the knowing / actualization that all creation is interconnected at a fundamental level. This chakra is considered beyond senses, sense organs, and vital breath, and therefore has no specific sound, but is associated with OM.
